First of all, I apologize for not updating this blog in so long.  I recently returned to the working world on a full-time basis for the first time in many years, and it's been a bit of an adjustment for me.  There were several weeks I felt like I didn't have the time to grocery shop (thank goodness for a decent stockpile!) let alone blog.  Hopefully I'll be getting back to a more regular blogging pattern now!




I headed out to King Soopers today and was thrilled with my deals this week.  Even my cashier and bagger were impressed! :-) For whatever reason, my computer and/or Blogger is acting wonky, so I can't seem to get my picture to post.  However, my pretty large dining room table was filled with groceries I bought today -- I spent $79.81, which was a savings of $157.90 or 66%.  Definitely one of my better shopping trips!

Possible deal on asparagus?

OK, I fully admit it -- I don't like asparagus.  I've never bought it at the store.  I don't know what is considered a good sale price for asparagus, because it's not something I ever buy.

Friday Freebie from SavingStar

A while ago I posted about using SavingStar to help reduce your grocery costs.  If you're not familiar with the program, read my post here to learn all about how it works and how to sign up. 

I've not been very diligent about checking SavingStar on a regular basis, but I noticed today that they are offering a Friday Freebie every week.  You can only activate the offer on that Friday, but you are given several days to redeem it.  When you activate the offer and buy the specified item during the time frame using a registered grocery card, the full purchase price is credited to your SavingStar account.

Today's Friday Freebie is 1 (2.2 - 3 oz.) Keebler or Cheez-It Snack Cup.  You must activate it today and the offer expires on 3/27.  My kids love it when I have coupons for these types of snacks -- they think I'm buying them a cool treat, but really I'm packing a cheap or free deal in their lunchboxes!
